Costa Rica, a small nation of approximately 5 million people, is located in Central America. It is blessed with a diverse natural beauty and renowned beaches, volcanoes, and a rich variety of flora and fauna. It is one of the oldest democracies in the Americas and one of the few nations to not have a national army. Costa Ricans are known for their “Pura Vida” mentality, a mindset of positivity. In 2009, Costa Rica was considered the country with the highest rate of happiness (Happy Planet Index). It is a country where peace and tranquility are part of the culture.
In spite of its many wonderful attributes, some of Costa Rica’s women find it difficult to work, especially outside of the home. At Love Nisa, we have partnered with the Municipalidad de Palmares, a government entity in Palmares, Alajuela, to identify women in need of work and financial opportunity.
With a workshop, we trained local women to make our Costa Rican collection. We are pleased to offer this collection. Each bracelet is hand-woven in vibrant colors and holds a charm representing Costa Rica. We hope you will love it as much as we do and help us in our mission to empower and support women.
